What the f*ck is aura photography & how does it work?
How Aura Photography Works
Aura photography uses biofeedback technology to capture your unique energy field—what many know as the aura. It reveals the frequency you’re putting out, in a single snapshot.
At The Portal, we use the AuraCam 6000—a rare analog camera system built on decades of research in energy imaging, inspired by the discoveries of Kirlian photography in the 1930s.
A Brief History
Kirlian photography was a technique that captured energy fields around objects using high-frequency electrical current and photographic plates. While the images appeared otherworldly, they were rooted in real electromagnetic interactions.
It confirmed what mystics and energy workers have long intuited:
We radiate more than what’s visible to the eye.
So… How Does It Work?
The AuraCam 6000 brings that concept into the modern era.
Here’s how your aura photo is created:
You place your hands on metal sensors, which read your body’s biofeedback—tiny electrical responses tied to your energetic state.
The sensors detect electrodermal activity, skin temperature, and moisture.
That data is translated into frequencies and interpreted by the AuraCam software.
Your aura is then projected as color around your image, captured on Polaroid film—in real time.
It’s not a filter. It’s not an effect.
It’s your current energetic signature—translated into color and light.
The Result?
A visual snapshot of your unseen self—emotional, physical, spiritual, and energetic.
A mirror into your mood, movement, and moment.
